Employee FAQs

What do I do if I am sick?

Stay home; you will not be penalized/pointed during this time. If you have a fever, cough, or shortness of breath these could be symptoms of COVID-19. Submit a Callout Form to inform KNA and the client that you will be out. Please follow the CDC’s recommendations, and keep KNA HR informed of your status. You will not be allowed back to the client without a physician’s note and/or 3 days of being symptom-free.

Will I be paid while out sick?

This depends on the state you work in and that state’s applicable laws for paid sick leave. KNA follows all state policies regarding paid sick leave.

I may have been exposed to the virus, should I come to work?

No, KNA would like all employees to follow the President’s guidelines. Stay home, do not go to work, and contact your medical provider. Keep KNA informed on your status.

My client site has shut down, what does that mean for me?

KNA will look to see if there are other assignments available to you. If there is another assignment available, we will reach out to you. Please be proactive and look on the KNA website for positions you may be interested in (https://www.kna-solutions.com/careers). When the client re-opens, we will contact you for available assignments.

Can I apply for Unemployment insurance benefits if I am out of work due to COVID-19?

Generally, you must be out of work through no fault of your own, be able and available to work, and meet your state's minimum earnings or job tenure requirements to be eligible for benefits. Please check with your state’s Department of Labor website regarding your eligibility.

If I find out that I have the virus what do I do?

Notify KNA HR immediately by reaching out online at:  https://cutt.ly/KNA-HR select reason HR Question-Coronavirus/COVID-19

If you receive a confirmed positive diagnosis for COVID-19, please keep this information confidential, as not to create unnecessary panic among workers. KNA will work with the client to keep your name confidential, but KNA HR will also notify individuals that they were exposed to the virus. Please also follow any instructions provided by your medical provider.

I don’t feel safe going to my assignment - what can I do?

KNA is working with each client on how to best keep all employees safe by following the instructions outlined by the CDC and President.  If you do not feel safe, and do not wish to continue your assignment during this time, you may choose to voluntarily resign your position.  When you feel that you are able to return to work, look at our careers page on our website for opportunities that may be a good fit for you (https://www.kna-solutions.com/careers).

Will I lose my job if I must take off to care for my children or sick family member(s)?

In the event you need to take care for a family member and you have been employed by KNA for 12 months or more, you may be eligible for the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). KNA cannot guarantee your current assignment will be open when you return. If you have questions, please reach out to KNA HR through this link https://cutt.ly/KNA-HR and select reason HR General. If you work in a state that has sick leave laws, and you are eligible/have accrued sick leave time, you may be able to use this earned sick leave for the care of a sick member of your immediate family.

If you are not eligible for FMLA or sick leave, KNA will be happy to discuss what opportunities exist when you are ready to return. For additional questions or concerns regarding benefits please submit your inquiry to HR through this link https://cutt.ly/KNA-HR
